This is my manual lighting design drawing of a theatre in the round. I have used profiles as apposed to minuette fresnels and 1K fresnels because when lighting a theatre in the round no backlight is required because the positioning / movements of the performers is unpredictable and the audience are seated all around the stage. Instead the performers are lit by all four corners in which ever area of the stage they stand. (A - I)
The Key Principles for a theatre in the round are that profiles can be used instead of fresnels because the edges can be manipulated better because there are no barn doors. Instead there are shutters which allow the beam of light to become more intensely focused - here they will allow the designer to create a perfect beam that creates a circle, avoiding hitting the audience. This would not be possible with fresnels because barn doors cannot create a circular effect as they are not a round shape.
