This is my manual drawing for a general cover of a Traverse stage. I have used 1K Fresnels as backlight and minuette fresnels for the wash. Profiles could be used alternatively to achieve a more intensely focused / narrower beam of light as they have shutters instead of barn doors.
Using a protractor, I was able to find the correct positions of the minuettes as I knew that it had to be 120 degree angles from the centre of each individual square. 0 Degrees starts on the backlight.
The squares (A, B, C, D, E, F, G,H) represent the space in which a performer would stand. It ensures all areas of the stage are lit and there are no patches. A and Bs backlight is rigged from bar 1-10 because from the opposite direction it would not work. C and D's follow the same pattern. Oppositely E - H are facing upwards on the plan above as the light covers the areas better than just coming from just the one direction.
